Exploded Tower, Heidelberg Castle, Germany
This tower was the original keep of the first castle built on the site. Later this tower became an artillery tower and was called the Powder Tower since gunpowder was stored here. It was blown up in a war in 1693 and about a third of the tower fell into the moat below. To see my best photos of Germany, please visit the Germany section of my portfolio
