Altarpiece at St Nicholas, Kiel, Germany
One of the few old buildings to survive WWII is St Nicholas Church. It houses a spectacular altar piece as well as a carved pulpit and baptismal font. Created in 1460, the winged altar piece shows scenes from the Passion and Easter in the upper section and scenes from Mary’s life in the lower section.
