I’m Julie Alessandrini-Costa and I love traveling and photography!  I've been a shutterbug since getting my first Kodak Disc Camera at age 13. I am self taught in digital photography. My favorite subjects are nature, animals & unusual architecture. I have exhibited at the Sangamo Club, the 2015, 2016 & 2017 Illinois State Fair Professional Art Contests, the Prairie Art Alliance 2015 & 2016 Emerging Artist Shows - all in Springfield, Illinois and at the 311 Gallery in Raleigh, North Carolina.  I won an honorable mention for my photo of the Medici Fountain (in Reflections of Light) at the 2016 Illinois State Fair.

I am also an artist, creating work in vivid color with color pencils, acrylic paints and digitally in Corel Paint.  My favorite subjects are my pets and flowers. I have taken drawing and design classes at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Springfield Art Association, Prairie Art Alliance and Lincoln Land Community College. My artwork is for sale at the Art Z Gallery, White Oaks Mall, Springfield, IL.

In addition to art & travel, I love mathematics, my rescued dogs and cats, environmental causes and dark chocolate!
